New Partnership: BiALP - United for Alpine, Disaster, and Wilderness Medicine

BiALP (Alpine, Disaster, and Wilderness Medicine) is a non-profit organization and research group founded in 2024 by passionate doctors and students. Its mission is to promote research, education, and collaboration in alpine, disaster, and wilderness medicine, addressing the unique healthcare challenges posed by extreme environments. BiALP conducts innovative studies on topics such as high-altitude illnesses, avalanche safety, and medical challenges in remote areas. At the same time, the organization focuses on raising awareness and providing strategies to prevent and treat medical issues in extreme conditions.

BiALP collaborates closely with international experts to share its findings in renowned scientific journals and at global conferences. Projects such as the study of avalanche airbags, portable hyperbaric masks, and the improvement of healthcare in remote mountain regions are just a few examples of BiALP's previous work.

We are excited that our Travel Clinic UZH is now collaborating with BiALP to support this vital commitment to research and education! We will be collaborating on continuing education and outreach and awareness on the effect of high-altitude illnesses. We look forward to seeing where this partnership will go!
