Sexual Health Consultation
We know that sexual health is a central topic in one`s life, whether traveling or at home. With the free test pilot project in the city of Zurich, we have seen the enormous need for low-threshold sexual health services. Our doors are always open to all those who would otherwise find it difficult to access the healthcare system. We see ourselves as helping to close gaps by supplementing existing services with a focus on prevention and, where appropriate, linking them to the national 'SwissPrEPared' program, which we coordinate nationally from the EBPI as well the NAPS programme.
The sexual health consultation area is currently under construction.

Billing via health insurance company
The new National Program (NAPS): Stop HIV, hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus and sexually transmitted infections was adopted by the Swiss Federal Council at the end of 2023. The NAPS set an important goal for 2030, no new HIV transmissions.
In order to achieve this, it was decided, that HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for people at increased risk would be covered by compulsory health insurance (OKP) as of July 1, 2024. The basic prerequisite for being able to bill the OKP is that the center participates in the SwissPrEPared program.
Our center is associated with SwissPrEPared and therefore fulfils the conditions to be able to bill the health insurance companies.
Billing via health insurance is only possible if you belong to one of the following three groups*:
1. Men (cis & trans) as well as trans women who have sex with men and fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- You have anal sex without a condom
- You want to have anal sex without a condom
- You have had an STI diagnosis in the last 12 months
- You have had HIV PEP in the last 12 months
- You use substances for sex
2. People who have sex without a condom with people from one of the following groups
- Men (cis & trans) and trans women who have sex with men
- Sex workers from countries with a higher HIV prevalence in the overall population
- People who have sex without a condom with a partner who is living with HIV and whose viral load is not below the detection limit
*In accordance with the federal ordinance; reference document “HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (HIV-PrEP)” (version dated March 11, 2024)
