Info Box:

Tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is a viral disease transmitted by ticks. In a small number of cases, it can lead to meningitis, paralysis, and sensory disturbances. In such cases, permanent health damage is common, and in rare cases, the disease can be fatal.

For one year of protection, two vaccinations are required, with an interval of at least one month. For long-term protection, a third dose is needed after about a year. After that, if the risk remains, a booster vaccination is recommended every 10 years.

Switzerland is one of the countries with the highest incidence of TBE in Europe. So it’s worth protecting yourself for carefree adventures in nature. 🌳🌷
